Previous Teaching Experience: Tom worked in journalism before teaching and published his own magazine but found the call for teaching as a mature student later in life and graduated from Exeter University in 1999. Tom has since worked in schools in the UK and also abroad teaching various qualification programs such as IGCSE, A-Level and the IB Diploma in Product Design, Resistant Materials and Art. Before joining the ABCIS Tom was the Subject Coordinator of Design and Technology at the Australian International School in HCMC. In his spare time Tom likes to go surfing, cycling, running and fishing and has coached some football, hockey and athletics.

Previous Teaching Experience: Gary is joining The ABCIS from Suffolk, UK, where he was Head of Mathematics, Assessment Leader and Resident Tutor at a boarding school. Gary has 13 years teaching experience and has worked in schools in the UK and internationally. The majority of his experience has been gained in international education. Gary has worked in international schools in Thailand, Spain and the Czech Republic, where he held positions of responsibility in both departmental leadership and whole-school leadership as Director of Studies. Gary spends his time out of school pursuing his enjoyment of sailing, reading, the outdoors and travel.

Previous Teaching Experience: Jessica joins The ABCIS from a boarding school in Suffolk, England, where she was Head of English. Jessica has a wide range of experience working in international education; she has taught Secondary English in schools in Thailand, Spain and the Czech Republic. In the time she has spent in international education, Jessica has held department leadership positions as well as taking on whole-school responsibilities. Further to working in international schools, Jessica spent time in Spain, where she worked in local Secondary schools. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys travelling, sailing and outdoor activities, and all things Spanish.

Previous Teaching Experience: Sue has more than 30 years teaching experience in Primary in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. She worked in schools in London for most of her career before coming to Vietnam. In her previous schools, she held a variety of Coordinator positions across the curriculum.
Present Responsibilities: Sue is the Head of Year 4, teaching alongside three other teachers. She is a member of the Parent Advisory Group. She currently runs a Sewing ECA.

Previous teaching experience: Agnes has 29 years teaching experience in both Early Primary and the Early Years. She worked as an Early Years teacher in the Philippines for 6 years at St. Paul's College, Marist School and Crescent Woods Montessori School. Agnes joined the ABCIS in 1997. She has had experience teaching in all subject areas across Key Stage 1 but most of her classroom experiences are with the Early Years.
Present Responsibilities: Agnes is with Staff Social and Wellbeing Aspect Group and currently runs the Phonics ECA.

Previous teaching experience: “J” has 32 years teaching experience across all age ranges within Primary School. She taught in the Philippines for 17 years before joining us in April 2005. “J” taught in Years 1 and 2 before joining our Early Years team.
Present Responsibilities: “J” is a member of The Parents Advisory Group.

Previous teaching experience: Ella has almost 12 years experience working in educational settings. She has taught a wide range of ages within the Primary and Early Years Foundation Stage phases, completing her GTP in Year 4. Ella has joined our school from the Czech Republic, where she spent 5 years teaching the EYFS and Year 1 in international schools in Prague. Ella enjoys yoga and cooking, and is keen to share these interests with her class in an educational way.
Present Responsibilities: Ella is a Reception class teacher at our SS2 EYFS Campus. She is also part of the Student Welfare and Leadership aspects group.

Previous teaching experience: Stephanie has taught for 3 years in London, UK. She has been actively involved in the pastoral care of students through her roles as a form tutor and Year 11 student mentor. She has supported teachers with their professional development and supervised a trainee teacher working towards their QTS. Throughout her time teaching she has run extracurricular activities including Geography club for KS3, exam preparation sessions for KS4 and has helped students to achieve the International Award.

Previous teaching experience: Simon spent 12 years working in the UK in schools in West London and Brighton before moving to teach internationally in 2018. He has worked across both academic and pastoral fields in education having been a Head of Department, Head of Year and a Chapter Leader. Simon has also worked on developing school-wide emotional well-being programmes for students and staff in conjunction with the University of Sussex. He has acted in the role of mentor for new teachers and worked with students to complete their International awards. He has wide ranging interests but has a particular passion for politics and cinema.

Previous teaching experience: Julian has been teaching for twelve years and began his career teaching in the North of England prior to moving internationally. He has since taught in international schools in the Netherlands and Brunei. He held the post of Deputy Head of Mathematics and lived in Hong Kong for the last four years. Julian has a deep passion and interest in how technology can be best used within education and is excited to continue exploring this at the ABCIS.Present Responsibilities:

Previous teaching experience: Christine has spent 9 enjoyable years teaching Psychology and Sociology. She began her teaching career in London and has taught Social Sciences as well as Philosophy and Ethics within a range of schools. She was subject leader of Social Sciences in Brighton for 3 years before moving to teach in Guangzhou, China. Christine enjoys crochet and knitting in her spare time.

Previous teaching experience: Sheldon has 19 years of Maths teaching experience including in Canada, the US, Brazil, China and the UAE . He was Head of Maths in two different countries and most recently worked 7 years in a leading boarding school in Scotland. In addition to teaching Maths, Sheldon has run the International Award and developed an Outdoor Leadership Programme. In his spare time he enjoys outdoor adventure activities, military history and playing the Scottish bagpipes.

Previous teaching experience: David started his teaching career in Further Education in the UK in 1986, primarily teaching City and Guilds and BTec Engineering courses. In the year 2000, he moved to Abu Dhabi in the UAE and continued technical training with the UAE Armed Forces. In 2006, David returned to the UK, to manage and teach BTec and A Levels at Sussex Downs College, which is one of the largest colleges in the UK. In 2009, David moved to the British School Jakarta, where he became the Head of Faculty for the School of Technology, overseeing Design Technology, Food Technology, Visual Arts and Computer Science. With over 30 years teaching and management experience, David still has a clear passion for teaching DT. Nothing gives him greater satisfaction than helping students design and make functional working products and developing a range of 'design thinking skills' that are in high demand in the world of work. David's main interests, outside of teaching, are keeping fit and painting abstract art and he has had several exhibitions of his artwork in the UK, UAE and Indonesia.

Previous teaching experience: Yanping has 2 years of teaching experience and 9 years of training experience. Before joining The ABC international school, she taught at Mandarin at the Singapore International School in Vungtau.

Previous teaching experience: Penny has 17 years teaching experience. She began her teaching career as a Primary teacher in West Sussex teaching Key Stage 1 including Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. She was the Early Years and Year 1 Team leader for 3 years as well as whole school English Coordinator. During her career she has led curriculum areas including Art, R.E, Maths, Science and The Environment. After ten years she was looking for a new challenge and decided to teach internationally. She moved to Italy as Early Years Coordinator and Year 1 teacher at a Bilingual school in Brescia North Italy. After meeting her husband having her daughter she continued to teach English as a second language in several Italian schools using Cambridge and language programmes with children from age 3 up to 13. Penny has spent the last 6 months as a Reception, Year 4 and 5 English Teacher in a French International school on the island of Mauritius. After spending 3 months last year teaching Reception at ABCIS Penny is very excited to return to her passion as a Primary class teacher in Vietnam with her family.Present Responsibilities: Year 1 Teacher

Previous teaching experience: Natalie has been teaching in the UK for 3 years. She began her career in Hampton (South West London) where she taught Year 3. She has coordinated PE for the whole school, led the netball teams and managed the Sports Premium budget. Prior to this she was a Literacy Leader for the Local Authority and Trainee Teacher Mentor whilst teaching in an inner-city school. She moved to Scotland after several years teaching in Abu Dhabi and China, where she was a KS2 Phase Leader and Health and Wellbeing Coordinator. Previous teaching experience: Hannah has been qualified for 4 years. She began working as a child protection officer and pastoral mentor at a secondary school in Leicester, UK. For the last 2 years, Hannah has been the SEN and EAL teacher and coordinator across EYFS, Primary and Secondary, at a large international school in Doha, Qatar. In this role she implemented a new and successful teaching programme for KS2 EAL learners. Hannah has worked in the field of learning support for over 9 years, including in the voluntary sector, and is passionate about inclusion and developing language for second language learners.Present Responsibilities:

Previous teaching experience: Luke has been teaching for 5 years and began his career in the largest primary school in Leicestershire (UK) where he taught Year 2 for two years. Since then Luke has been teaching in Doha, Qatar at a diverse international school in both Years 2 and 3. During Luke’s time in Qatar he has been a P4C (Philosophy for Children) lead and also the school’s NQT mentor. She has taught in most year groups across the primary phase from Years 1 to 6. During this time she was Leader of Physical Education and Sport, and Mentor Teacher for beginner teachers. She then moved to London and was Head of Games and a PE teacher at an East London Preparatory School. Aimee loves teaching and outside of school enjoys playing tennis and netball.

Previous teaching experience: Daniel has been a primary school teacher for 5 years. After completing his PGCE, he moved to East London where he taught Year 5 for two years. During his second year, Daniel became Science Coordinator for Key Stage 2. He then moved to Kuwait where he has worked for the past 3 years (teaching Years 2, 5 and 6). Whilst working in Kuwait, Daniel was appointed Mathematics Coordinator and also mentored a teacher new to the profession.Present Responsibilities: Year 2 Teacher

Previous teaching experience: After completing her PGCE, Zoe began working in an Academy in London. She worked there for six years and was part of the senior leadership team as acting vice principal. She spent 5 years teaching in Reception and one year teaching in Year 1. Whilst there, some of her responsibilities included Early Years, Reading and Forest School Leader, Educational Visits Coordinator and NQT mentor. She coordinated parent workshops, early years training and consulted in other early years settings within the federations academies.
Present Responsibilities: Zoe is the Head of Early Years and Foundation Stage.
Qualifications: Certified Swim Coach with The American Association of Swim Coaches, previously Philippine Swimming League Director for Foreign Affairs for Uganda, Qualified Muay Thai Instructor.
Background: Prior to joining ABCIS, Jenny was a volunteer swimming and athletics coach at the Kampala International School in Uganda. Her Swimmers have competed in competitions in Dubai, Kenya, Rwanda, Thailand, Singapore, The Philippines and Qatar. She loves teaching all levels of swimmers and developing their skills, techniques and mindsets, ready for competition.
Present Responsibilities: Jenny is responsible for teaching KS2 and KS3 students. She also runs an Elite swim club before and after school.

Previous Teaching Experience: Robert has multiple years of teaching experience. He was the Head of PE at Livingston American School, Shanghai. He developed the Whole School PE curriculum and was responsible for all Primary and Middle School Athletics, as well as creating and implementing the House System. Robert has coached a number of different sports including football, volleyball, basketball and athletics, and has previously worked as Aquatic Director at Shanghai Rego International School. He is a keen triathlete and football player, and is passionate about promoting sports and healthy lifestyles..
Present Responsibilities: This year Robert will be PE across the entire school. He is responsible for developing the whole school swimming scheme. He is also the coach of the Primary and Secondary School Swimming Teams.

Previous Teaching Experience: David has 15 years experience working in UK schools. He entered the teaching profession through the Graduate Teaching Programme and has been working with Primary aged students ever since. In his previous school in Cambridge, David held the position of Year 2 Teacher, Member of the Senior Leadership Team and was also the Deputy Child Protection Lead. David is a keen sportsman and has been involved in setting up a wide variety of after school sports clubs for students.
Present Responsibilities: David is primarily a Primary Teacher though he also enjoys being a part of the reporting aspects group.

Previous Teaching Experience: Keeley has 18 years teaching experience in the UK. She has held responsibilities of leading mixed age range year groups and coordinating assessment. She has managed Science, PE and organised whole school outdoor learning activities, including residential trips.
Present Responsibilities: Keeley is now teaching her seventh year at The ABC International School. Alongside teaching in Year 3, Keeley is the Science coordinator for Key Stages 1 and 2. Additionally, she runs an exciting Science Film Club as part of the ECA programme, which is designed to promote scientific understanding. Keeley is also a member of the Aspects and Vision Aspects Group.

Previous teaching experience: Dan has been teaching for 6 years. He began his career in Bristol (UK) where he taught Year 5 for two years and Year 6 for two years before starting at The ABC International School where he continues as a Year 6 teacher. During his time as a teacher in the UK, Dan was the Upper Key Stage 2 leader, Leader of Computing and delivered sessions for the TeachFirst initial teacher training programme. He is passionate about teaching and learning and instilling a love of learning in all his students.
Present Responsibilities: Alongside teaching Year 6, Dan is a member of the Sharing Good Practice aspects group. This year, he is running a Coding ECA.

Previous Teaching Experience: Daniel taught in the UK for 13 years. Alongside his role as a Year 3 Class teacher, he also has additional responsibility as Head of Year 3. Additionally, Daniel has experience as a Science and P.E. Coordinator at his previous school.

Previous teaching experience: Philip has been teaching for over 30 years and is currently Head of Year 5 at the ABC International School. He started his teaching career in the UK where he taught Years 3, 5 and 6 at Kennington Cof E Primary School in Ashford, Kent. During his 4 years at Kennington, he had responsibility as PE Coordinator and then Mathematics Coordinator. In 1991 he moved his family to Singapore to take up a position as Year 6 Class Teacher at Tanglin Trust School. Philip taught at Tanglin Trust School for 10 years and during this time held a number of responsibility posts including Year 6 Library Coordinator, Junior School Head of Mathematics and finally, Head of Year 4. In 2001, Philip returned to Australia to live in Perth, where he worked at a large independent co-educational college, All Saints‟ College. He taught at All Saints‟ for 13 years as a Year 6 class teacher and then as part of the Learning Support Team, teaching Mathematics and English to students in Years 3 to 6. For eleven years at All Saints‟ he was also the Junior School Curriculum Coordinator. In 2014 he was drawn back to Asia again to teach at Dulwich College Suzhou in China. In 2017, he moved to Vietnam to teach at the ABC International School.
Present Responsibilities: Philip is currently a member of the school's Social and Welfare Aspects Group and runs an after school Maths games club.

Previous Teaching Experience: Martyn has been teaching for 5 years. He began his career in the Czech Republic where he taught whole school PE for three years. Martyn then moved to Kuala Lumpur where he has spent two years teaching PE in the Primary School. His interests outside teaching include playing ice hockey and football, hiking/running and obstacle course racing.

Previous teaching experience: Bim has been teaching for 10 years. She has 5 years teaching experience in London and she taught for 2 years internationally in Egypt prior to coming to Vietnam. Bim has worked primarily in Key Stage 2 and had taught in Years 4, 5 and 6. Her additional responsibilities have included the role of Key Stage 2 Literacy Coordinator and Religious Education Coordinator. After returning from Egypt, Bim taught Year 6 in an Independent School in London. She also carried out Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 group interventions with EAL students during this time.
Present Responsibilities: Bim is currently the EIP teacher for Year 6 and teaches Year 3, 4 and 5 EAL groups. She is a member and chair of the Primary Google Aspects group, leads Key Stage 2 Student Council and is running the Quiz Club ECA this session.

Previous Teaching Experience: Clodagh has 5 years teaching experience. After moving from Ireland to England to complete her Undergraduate degree and PGCE, Clodagh moved to Abu Dhabi where she taught in British International schools for four years as a Year 2 and Year 5 teacher; she was also a Head of Year. Clodagh is an outgoing, creative and imaginative teacher who strives to instill a passion for learning in children, whilst guiding and supporting them through their journey.
Present Responsibilities: Clodagh is the Primary House Coordinator and runs the Drama Games ECA.

Previous Teaching Experience: Josephine has 8 years teaching experience. After completing her PGCE, Josephine worked at a community primary school in Manchester. She supported the school in transitioning from a small one-form entry to a two-form entry during her time there and played a key role in developing the curriculum; focusing primarily on mathematics and cooperative learning. Josephine is passionate about cooperative learning in the classroom and after winning a scholarship to train in America was then able to bring subject expertise back into school and provide professional development for her colleagues. She loves to learn and to see others succeed and brings this ethos into the classroom to inspire the children that she works with. Her interests outside teaching include yoga, reading and walking.

Previous Teaching Experience: Sophie has 4 years teaching experience. She graduated with a Maths specialism and an enthusiasm for teaching. She discovered her passion for teaching whilst working at The British International School Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as a Teaching Assistant for a year. After returning to England, she worked as a class teacher in both Years 3 and Year 5.
Present Responsibilities: Sophie is a Year 3 Primary Teacher, part of the Student Welfare Aspects group and helps to run KS2 School Council.

Previous teaching Experience: Kristen has been teaching for 21 years and has taught in both Key Stage 1 and 2. She taught in the North-East of England for 14 years, starting her career in Year 4. She then worked in Year 6 for a number of years before starting her Key Stage 1 teaching experience. In 2014 she relocated to Brunei where she worked as a Primary English teacher in Reception and Year 1. Kristen has coordinated many subject areas in her career but is particularly passionate about English and the Arts. This is her fourth year at the ABCIS.

Previous teaching experience: Heather has 10 years teaching experience in both Key Stage 1 and 2. She has taught Year 3 for 4 years at The ABC International School. Prior to this, she taught for 6 years at a school just outside of Canterbury in England. During this time, she taught Year 2 and Year 3. She led History and Reading across the school and launched the school library with a focus on promoting reading for enjoyment.
Present Responsibilities: Heather is the Primary English Coordinator. She is also a member of the Sharing Good Practice Aspects Group and currently runs the Card Games and Board Games ECA.

Previous Teaching Experience: James has 15 years teaching experience. He began his career as a Year 6 teacher in Barnsley, UK. 5 years later, he was appointed as an Assistant Head teacher in a large Primary School in Sheffield, UK where he led Key Stage 2 and the introduction of the 2014 National Curriculum. He was also appointed Head of Escafeld Initial Teacher Training Programme working closely with Sheffield Hallam University. Eager to return to a greater teaching responsibility, he accepted a position as a teaching deputy in a Primary school in Newark, UK. He taught in Years 4 and 6, led Key Stage 2 and was Head of English.

Previous Teaching Experience: Iwan has 14 years teaching experience; he started his teaching career in the UK before taking up a post at the ABCIS, where he taught for 5 years. He left Vietnam to work in the Sultan‟s School, Oman and then at Dulwich College, Seoul, before returning to ABCIS. A keen participant of many sports he also has experience in coaching football, rugby, athletics and tennis.
Present Responsibilities: Iwan is a Year 5 class teacher and Primary Engage (information management system) Coordinator. He is involved in running a Table Tennis ECA.

Previous Teaching Experience: Philippa has 15 years teaching experience. She began her teaching career in a boys school in Worthing, West Sussex (UK) as Head of Music. After seven years she was looking for a new challenge and decided to teach internationally. She worked at Shrewsbury International School in Bangkok where she taught music from KS2 to KS5. Swapping the heat for the snow, Philippa then joined the British School of Moscow, where she enjoyed teaching music to both Senior and Junior classes for two years. It was whilst in Moscow that she realised her main passion lay in Primary teaching, which prompted her to move back to SE Asia to join the staff at the ABCIS.
Present Responsibilities: As well as teaching music from Pre-Nursery to Year 6, Philippa also leads a Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Choir. She also enjoys being a part of the Google Aspects group.

Previous teaching experience: Alex is entering his fourth year teaching Year 6 at the ABCIS. Prior to this, he taught for 2 years in South London, England, working in Upper Key Stage 2. Outside of his classroom duties he took an active role in coordinating the PE program. Before gaining qualified teacher status, Alex spent 10 years as a tennis teaching professional, teaching players of all ages and backgrounds, with his career spanning the UK, USA, Australia and China.

Previous teaching experience: Caitlin has been a Primary school teacher for 20 years. After qualifying, she worked at a Primary school in Manchester for 7 years, teaching across Key Stage 2 where she was coordinator of Geography. Prior to moving to Vietnam, Caitlin spent 10 years at a European School in Southern Germany, where she was seconded by the UK Department for Education to work as a Primary School Teacher. Her responsibilities included being coordinator of the Anglophone Section.
Present Responsibilities: Caitlin is now in her fourth year at ABCIS and she teaches Primary EAL & EIP Classes. She is a member of the Google Aspects Group and runs a Key Stage 2 Homework Club.

Previous Teaching Experience: After completing her PGCE, Chelsea began working in a comprehensive school in Ipswich (UK). She has worked there for four years; two years teaching Year 4 and two years teaching Year 1. Whilst there, she coordinated a range of subjects including MFL, EAL and Science as well as training a student teacher.
Present Responsibilities: This year Chelsea is running a Construction ECA and is also a member of the Yearbook Aspect Group.

Previous Teaching Experience: Melanie joined The ABCIS in 2008 after working in North-Western England and Moscow, Russia. Her over 20 years‟ teaching experience have seen her work throughout the Early Years and Primary, both as a teacher and leader. These roles have included leading the teaching of English across the Primary School and the role of Special Educational Needs leader.
Present Responsibilities: Mel is the Head of Primary Curriculum including EAL and a member of the Vision and Ethos Aspects group. She also teaches Year 1 and 2 EAL.

Previous Teaching Experience: Kevin has 14 years teaching experience. He began his career as a Primary teacher in Gateshead (UK) where he taught Reception for two years and Year 1 for one year before teaching in Shanghai, China for two years. In Shanghai he worked as a Year 1 and Year 3 class teacher. He then moved back to the UK and taught Years 2 and 5. Kevin taught Year 2 at the ABC International School for two years before he joined the Senior Management Team. He has also coordinated a range of subjects including ICT, PE and Humanities.
Present Responsibilities: Apart from his role as Deputy Head of Primary, Kevin is also the Senior Management Team member of the Communication Aspects Group.

Previous Teaching Experience: Hannah is in her 6th year as a Teacher of Physical Education. During this time she has taught at two successful schools in the London Borough of Havering, UK, before moving to Vietnam. Hannah coached a variety of school sports teams to district and borough finals and assisted in the development of an Elite Player Development programme.Present Responsibilities: Hannah is currently the Head of Year 8.

Previous Teaching Experience: Alex spent his first 3 years in the music industry touring with performing bands and learning the ins and outs of the music industry. During this time period he had taken on the roles of performer, roadie, guitar/drum/bass tech, stage manager, Front of house, tour manager, and driver. The passion evolved and eventually led him into the professional studio environments working alongside platinum album producer/ Music Entrepreneur Paris A. Cabeza and his protege, Lead Sound Engineer Mariano Aponte. It was here Alex developed a more in tune ear for music production and was opened up to a world of professional etiquette and an elevated standard for modern music. Amidst all this music development he took advantage of the artist’s and companies needs for professional promotional material and worked as a freelance photographer/ videographer/graphic designer throughout its entirety.
Present Responsibilities: Alex currently operates and maintains the schools theatre for all events on ground. Apart from that he works hand in hand with the music department, helping students navigate equipment and performance, as well as assist all school faculty in any event that one of his many talents would be needed.

Previous Teaching Experience: After completing his PGCE in 2012, Mark began teaching in a new start up school in Hammersmith, Central London where he taught ICT and Computing to Key Stages 3 to 5. After three successful years in England, he made the move to Vietnam and has been teaching ICT and Computing at ABCIS for the past years.
Present Responsibilities: Alongside his role as an ICT teacher, he is also a Year 13 tutor. Mark also runs the International Award.

Previous teaching Experience: After working for a short time in the UK hospitality industry, Gavin began teaching and worked for 7 years in two of the West Midlands’ largest colleges, where he taught A-level and GCSE Business Studies and Economics, before moving into international Secondary education. He then moved to China, where he worked for 4 years. During his time there he taught IGCSE and A-level Business Studies and Economics. Gavin is a big believer in inspiring confidence as an essential tool for success; during his time in China he ran the school choir and assisted in the running of the school's dramatic society. He has been teaching for 15 years and is the co-author of an IGCSE Business Studies textbook.
Present Responsibilities: Alongside teaching Business Studies, Economics and History across the Secondary school, Gavin coordinates Work Experience for Year 11 students. He will also be running a Secondary Baking Club and is a member of the Vision and Ethos Aspects group. Gavin is also the Head of Social Sciences.

Joe is committed to ensuring students are well prepared for Secondary school life and has worked with a number of Primary schools to ensure Secondary school support is fit for purpose. Joe believes that everyone has the potential to be successful and was coordinator of the school‟s Growth Mindset strategy.

He began his career in Ipswich, UK where he worked as a Lecturer of Sports Science and had responsibility for improving teaching, learning & assessment across the college. He moved onto a renowned Sixth Form College in Birmingham, UK in 2013 where he founded the Physical Education Department as Head of Physical Education. Rob has coached at successful basketball clubs and academies in the UK culminating in multiple championship wins. Rob is a Basketball England Level 3 certified coach which is one of the highest certifications recognised by FIBA. He has a keen interest in the use of technology within Physical Education and is a Google Certified Educator & Trainer.

Previous Teaching Experience: Mustansar has 9 years of teaching experience. He is an experienced specialist Mathematics teacher who joined us from BIS HCMC. He recently developed his professional interests by completing a Masters in Education and International Development at UCL in November 2017.

Previous teaching experience: Katherine has been teaching for 6 years, 3 of which were in a large academy in Bristol (UK) before moving to The ABCIS. Katherine was a Head of House for 2 years in the UK, an assessor for the Duke of Edinburgh (International) Award and is also a registered Specialist Leader of Education (SLE). As part of this role, she supported multiple schools with their Geography provision, working with exam boards to develop their assessments across all key stages and creating a new attainment system after the removal of curriculum levels. Katherine has also supported teachers with the development of teaching and learning through CPD and teacher training.
Present Responsibilities: Katherine is Chair of the Student Welfare Aspects Group and is leading the Global Issues Network (GIN) ECA. Katherine is also the Head of Year 7.

Previous Teaching Experience: Gareth has been involved in music education for over 18 years and has been classroom teaching for 16 years. Initially working in a secondary school, he went on to split his teaching across all key stages, eventually leading the music programme for the Gloucester Schools Partnership which included 39 Primary schools. Gareth was a singing teacher at Cheltenham College as well as a freelance coach for the UK's national 'Sing Up' programme for the South West of England.
Present Responsibilities: Gareth took over as Head of Visual & Performing Arts in 2018 and looks forward to working with the expanding PA Faculty over the following years. Gareth has also become Head of Creative outreach, where he seeks to build on opportunities available to our school community. He runs several ECAs linked within Music including the Schools Orchestra. He is currently a member of the Google Aspect Group.
In May 2015, Gareth was elected onto the FOBISIA‟s Executive Committee for Music and became Co- Chair of the committee in September 2017. Gareth has also been Artistic Director of the International Choir and Orchestra of HCMC (ICO) since July 2016.

Rhys was responsible for computer science development, training and development across the multi-academy trust until moving to the ABC International School.

Previous Teaching Experience: Alun has been teaching Business Studies and Economics for over 12 years in the UK, Thailand, China and Vietnam. He commenced his teaching role after a successful commercial career in the retail and leisure industries. As well as being a passionate and enthusiastic teacher, Alun is a qualified scuba diving instructor and technical diver.
Present Responsibilities: Alun is a form Tutor for Year 13, coordinates Work Experience for Year 11 students and co-runs the Saigon Enterprise Challenge ECA. He is a member of the Vision and Ethos Aspect group.

Previous teaching experience: After completing his PGCE, Anish worked in a successful voluntary aided school in North London, teaching Mathematics from Key Stages 3 to 5. As a form tutor, he supported the pastoral work of the school, including promoting the general progress and well-being of individual pupils. As well as being a committed and enthusiastic teacher, Anish enjoys a wide range of sports and is passionate about boxing and rock climbing in particular. He has 7 years of teaching experience.

Previous Teaching Experience: Ann-Marie is an experienced teacher of Drama who has spent the past 28 years teaching Drama and English in the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates. She has previously worked at a number of schools in both the UK and the Middle East, including at The English College Dubai, Jumeirah College Dubai, The British International School Abu Dhabi and Brighton College Abu Dhabi. During her career she has held various positions of responsibility including those of Head of Drama and Head of Department. She has taught Drama to pupils from Years 4 to 13, including to GCSE and A levels and has also prepared students for the Trinity College London Graded Drama Examinations. She has also directed a wide variety of major musical and drama productions, including Bugsy Malone, Arabian Nights, Roald Dahl‟s Revolting Rhymes, Oklahoma and Macbeth in addition to directing annual GCSE and A level showcase performances.

Previous Teaching Experience: Emma has been teaching for 20 years. She started teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in Poland in 2000 and then in Japan and Germany. After returning to the UK to teach German and French, she then moved to Kuwait to teach French, German and English. Later she worked in Fujairah, UAE which was followed by another career opportunity to teach French, German and Travel & Tourism in Al Ain, UAE, where she held the positions of Head of the House System and Head of Extra-Curricular Activities.
Present Responsibilities: Emma currently teaches EAL in the Secondary school and helps with the Fox Football teams for the U19 girls. She is a member of the Staff Social and Wellbeing Aspects Group.

In Abu Dhabi he taught English in international schools for 4 years and was also Head of House for the last 2 years of his time there. His interests outside of teaching include sport, music and travelling.

She passionately believes in the role of a holistic education, helping students to develop into well-rounded members of their community.

Previous Teaching Experience: Alex has over 5 years teaching experience. He entered the teaching profession through the Teach First Leadership Development Programme. In his previous school in London, Alex held the position of Literacy Coordinator, taking responsibility for raising literacy standards, recreational reading and staff development. Outside of school, Alex is a keen traveller, writer, photographer and scuba diver.

Present Responsibilities: Bo teaches Secondary Mandarin Chinese and is the Tutor of 9B. He is a member of the Sharing Good Practice Aspects group and supports the table tennis ECA.

Previous Teaching Experience: Stacey has more than fourteen years‟ experience teaching both English and Mandarin Chinese in Taiwan, Vietnam and New Zealand. She has previously taught Key Stages 1 and 2 as well as Secondary Mandarin Chinese.
Present Responsibilities: Stacey is teaching Mandarin Chinese to KS3 and KS4 pupils as well AS Level and is a Year 11 form tutor. She runs a Chinese Creative Art Club for students and is a member of the Reporting Aspect Group.

Previous Teaching Experience: Annie has 34 years teaching experience. She taught French and German at various schools in the UK where she was also Head of Modern Foreign Languages. In 2001 she moved to St Christopher’s School in Bahrain where she taught French at IGCSE and A Level and German at Key Stage 3 level, as well as being a Head of Year. She then worked at Bangkok Patana School for 14 years where she has been a Head of House, a Head of Year and a French and German teacher.

Previous Teaching Experience: Before moving to Vietnam four years ago, Antoine taught languages in London for eight years where he trained Secondary teachers and became Head of Department. Through teaching German and Spanish at Primary and Secondary alongside French (up to Key Stage 5), Antoine has sought to stimulate his students' interest and broaden their horizons with an ever-growing conviction that languages are the best way to deepen our understanding of other people and cultures.
Present Responsibilities: Antoine is our current Head of Modern Foreign Languages, he is also a member of the Google Aspects group and runs the Table Tennis club after school. Antoine and the MFL department organises annual Language events such as the French Café and the Language Perfect competition.

Previous teaching experience: Steven has over 35 years teaching experience. After 9 years in Warrington (UK ) he took part in a Commonwealth teacher exchange programme to Perth, Western Australia. On return he then took up a position in Dubai (UAE) which lasted for 24 years, where he was also examination officer for 8 years. This was followed by a year in the Channel Island of Guernsey before returning to the UK where he taught at a 14-19 Studio school in Liverpool.
Present Responsibilities: Steven is part of the Sharing Good Practice Aspects Group and assists with boys under 14 football for his ECA.

Previous teaching experience: Adam has 8 years of teaching experience, previously in the UK and now in Vietnam. He has previously taught in both Leeds and Lincoln in the UK prior to The ABCIS. Adam was Head of Biology during his final two years in the UK and was also heavily involved in educational visits, coordinating trips to Turkey, South Africa and also the International Award.
Present Responsibilities: Adam is the Head of Year 11, is running a Strategy Board Game ECA and is a member of the Sharing Good Practice Aspects Group. As the ‘Engage’ Coordinator for the Secondary Campus, Adam is responsible for facilitating the input of various data into the school’s management information system, including timetables, ECAs and report mark sheets.

Previous Teaching Experience: Christine taught Science for 14 years in three London schools before moving to British International School, Phuket, where she taught Science and IB Chemistry. After 2 years there she got married and moved back to her ancestral roots in Vietnam. She previously taught at BIS Vietnam and the ABCIS for three years before taking time out of teaching to raise a family.
Present Responsibilities: Christine currently teaches Science at KS3 and KS4 as well as Chemistry at KS5. She is a tutor of a Year 13 class, whose welfare and progress she will monitor this year. Christine runs a Chemistry club which gives students experience of individual research, planning and carrying out experiments in their chosen field of interest. She is also a member of the Parent Advisory Group.
Qualifications: BSc (Hons) Physiology and Sports Science, University of Leeds; PGCE Secondary Science QTS, University of Sussex.
Previous Teaching Experience: Mr. Grant is in his 17th year of teaching having started in Brighton in the UK and has since been teaching in international schools in the Middle-East and Kenya before moving to Vietnam. Mr. Grant teaches all three sciences with his specialism being Biology.
Present Responsibilities: Grant is Head of Year 9 and with his love of running leads the Running Club ECA challenging students to run a 100km by the end of the year.

Previous Teaching Experience: Before joining the ABCIS in 2015, Andrew worked for 5 years in an independent boys‟ school in Guernsey in the Channel Islands, and in a large comprehensive school near Peterborough, England. Andrew takes part in a wide range of sports and has been involved in coaching youth rugby teams and has volunteered at a rugby academy in Ho Chi Minh City. He enjoys the outdoors and has played roles in supporting both the International Award and Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
Present Responsibilities: Andrew is chair of the Staff Social and Welfare Aspects Group, is House Coordinator, and helps to run the International Award ECA.
Qualifications: BA Geography, University College London, TeachFirst – Geography, QTS Secondary, Canterbury Christ Church University.
Previous Teaching Experience: Amy has 14 years teaching experience in both British and International Schools. She worked in East London and Brunei prior to joining the ABCIS and held the position of Head of Year 8 in her London school. Amy has worked for The ABCIS for 10 years as a Geography teacher and previously held the positions of Head of Humanities and Head of Key Stage 3.
Present Responsibilities: As a member of the Senior Management Team Amy is the Head of Key Stage 4 and Examinations Officer. She teaches Geography, runs a charity ECA and is a member of the Student Welfare Aspects Group.
Qualifications: First Class BSc (Hons), Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Trent Polytechnic Nottingham, UK. PGCE Physics and Science, Nottingham University, UK.
Previous Teaching Experience: Stephen has 31 years of teaching and leadership experience in different Secondary schools. He has taught in three different schools in the UK, has leadership experience as a Head of Science in two of them and additionally as an Assistant Head teacher in a large secondary school. This is his sixth year at the ABCIS and his previous roles included Head of Science and Head of Key Stage 4.
Present Responsibilities: Teacher of Year 13 Physics and is a member of the Yearbook team.

Qualifications: B.A (Hons) double degree: History /Ancient History and Archaeology, Trinity College Dublin (1992), Higher Diploma of Education, Trinity College Dublin (1994), QTS UK (all Primary and Secondary Schools), Level 2 Qualified School Inspector (all UK and international schools).
Previous Teaching Experience: Ian has 27 years teaching experience in both Primary and Secondary areas and 17 in management and leadership. He worked at schools in Dublin (Ireland) and in South London (UK) for 6 years before arriving in Vietnam. He was commended by the Department for Education for bringing about outstanding academic improvement while working in one of the schools in London. He has held a number of middle and senior management roles throughout his career.
Present Responsibilities: Ian has a broad range of responsibilities within the school which extend from Nursery to Year 13. These include lead responsibility for child protection and safeguarding matters, data analysis and reporting/advising about student performance to drive academic improvement, admissions and monitoring and advising on improvements in a range of different areas throughout the whole school. He leads in ensuring all health and safety, medical and safeguarding practices and policies within the school conform to expected UK standards. He was twice lead evaluator of all evidence for the ABCIS during inspections by UK Department of Education inspectors in 2013 and 2017, on both occasions in which the ABCIS received an outstanding rating as a British School Overseas in all areas. Ian is chair of the Parent‟s Advisory Group and also leads the Model United Nations at the ABC international School.

Previous Teaching Experience: Steve spent 10 years working in the UK in city comprehensive schools in Cambridge, Derbyshire and Nottingham before moving to the UAE to support educational reform in Abu Dhabi. He then spent 2 years working in local government schools training Principals and Vice Principals in school improvement before moving to the British International School Abu Dhabi as the Head of Academic Studies. He spent three years there helping set up the Secondary school, overseeing the school application to become an IB World School, managing the curriculum, reporting and assessment and the tracking of student progress. Steve spent five years as the Head of Secondary at ABCIS before becoming the school Principal.
Present Responsibilities: Steve currently works across all three campuses and is a member of both Charity and Staff Welfare Aspects groups.
