International Award at The ABC International School

The International Award

The International Award at The ABC International School is an enriching personal development programme, adapted from the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Designed for students in Years 9 to 13, it empowers young people to build essential life skills, contribute to the community, and embrace new challenges.

From the age of 14, students can enrol in the Bronze, Silver, or Gold levels of the International Award at The ABC International School. To complete the award, participants engage in four key sections that encourage holistic growth:

  • Service: Students commit to helping their community through volunteering. This could include environmental projects, assisting local charities, or mentoring peers, fostering empathy and civic responsibility.
  • Adventurous Journey: Participants embark on an expedition, developing teamwork, navigation, and problem-solving skills while exploring the outdoors and pushing their physical and mental limits.
  • Skill: Students select and cultivate a personal skill, ranging from learning a musical instrument or a new language to cooking or photography, promoting creativity and self-improvement.
  • Physical Recreation: To encourage a healthy lifestyle, students engage in regular physical activity, whether through team sports, dance, or individual fitness pursuits, enhancing their stamina and well-being.

The International Award at The ABC International School not only supports personal growth but also stands out to universities and employers, showcasing a student’s dedication, resilience, and commitment to excellence beyond academics.
